ICYMI: Rosen Urges Washington Republicans to Join Her Efforts to Bring Down Prices

WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) urged Washington Republicans to join her efforts to bring down prices and stop Trump’s reckless tariffs from making life unaffordable for Nevadans. Senator Rosen will attempt to pass her No Tariffs on Groceries Act today, which would exempt groceries from being affected by Trump’s trade war.

KLAS Las Vegas: Rosen: We Need to Focus on Affordability

Anchor: “Nevada Democratic Senator Jacky Rosen speaking with reporters today on her proposal to lower grocery prices. Senator Rosen blames president Donald Trump and Republicans for failing to lower the cost of living and says the president is instead focusing on situations like building a new white house ballroom that Americans say they don’t care about.”

Senator Rosen: “People know what they spend at the market and what they pay for their rent. And if you really want to know the truth about the economy, you don’t need to listen to Trump. Just take one look at your grocery bill this weekend.”

Anchor: “The Trump administration says prices are coming down, though the data shows prices are flat or up. Rosen introduced a bill last year that would prevent tariffs on groceries. She says she’s going to force a vote on that proposal in the coming days.”

KRXI Reno: Rosen: Working Families Shouldn’t be Hurt in Trade Wars

Anchor: “Senator Jacky Rosen, she’s introducing new legislation with the goal of lowering costs for Nevadans. Senator Rosen says prices across the board have increased due to tariffs imposed by president Donald Trump, specifically in regards to grocery prices. The senator calls the tariffs reckless and, quote, an assault on working families. Rosen says she is introducing the No Tariffs on Groceries Act, aimed at exempting groceries from these tariffs.”

Senator Rosen: “Working families should not be collateral damage in reckless trade wars. Families don’t deserve to be Washington Republicans’ political pawns. So whether it’s groceries or being able to afford lifesaving health insurance, Nevadans deserve a government that works for them, not against them.”

Anchor: “Senator Rosen says she plans to bring the act to the senate floor to ask for unanimous consent to pass the legislature.”

KTVN Reno: Rosen: Trump’s Tariffs Are a Tax on All of us

Anchor: “Democratic leaders are worried the president isn’t helping with economic relief. They pointed out that housing, health care, groceries and basic needs are significantly more expensive. Senator Jacky Rosen says Republican politicians contributed to this by letting ACA enhanced tax credits expire. But also Senator Rosen tells us housing prices are through the rough in part due to tariffs on building materials among other things.

Senator Rosen: “Since Donald Trump has been in office, families have spent on average well over $1,000 more than previous years just because of Trump’s reckless tariffs, so make no mistake and don’t be confused: Trump’s tariffs are a tax on all of us.”
