WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) released the following statement applauding the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for providing the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection (NDEP) with a grant totaling $477,788, to be used to reduce diesel emissions and exposure throughout the state of Nevada.
“This grant funding will be used to replace diesel emitting school busses and municipal service vehicles with cleaner alternatives,” said the Senators. “By preserving our state’s clean air from harmful pollutants, we are protecting the health of our environment and the health of Nevadans. I will continue to support initiatives that create a cleaner and healthier Nevada.”
BACKGROUND: Senator Rosen is a co-sponsor of the Clean School Bus Act (S. 1750), which would accelerate the electrification of the nation’s school bus fleet through a competitive grant program.
