In order to create positive change for the people of Nevada, we must ensure that our democracy is healthy, transparent, and strong.\u201d<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<u><strong>BACKGROUND:<\/strong><\/u> Senator Rosen is a co-sponsor of S. 561, the Voting Rights Advancement Act of 2019, legislation which would restore protections against voter suppression that the Supreme Court struck down in Shelby County v. Holder in 2013. Senator Rosen is also a co-sponsor of the For The People Act (S. &nbsp;949), legislation to expand and protect voting rights, reduce the influence of money in politics, and strengthen ethics rules for government employees.
