Senator Rosen secured funding to expand access to affordable housing, fight veteran homelessness, protect veterans\u2019 access to ambulance and emergency transportation services, finish building a national veterans cemetery in Elko, facilitate the growth of rural and small businesses, support tele-health access for rural communities, and increase opportunities in STEM education for women and minorities from rural areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Senate\u2019s bipartisan government funding package includes two of Senator Rosen\u2019s bipartisan amendments to increase funding for veterans\u2019 access to telehealth and protect communities in Northern Nevada from the swarm of Mormon crickets. This package also includes Senator Rosen\u2019s requests for funding for community and military construction projects across Nevada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Senate\u2019s government funding package&nbsp; includes bipartisan provisions to support our veterans, invest in&nbsp; military readiness, and protect Nevadans\u2019 access to health care and affordable housing,\u201d <strong>dijo el Senador Rosen.<\/strong> \u201cI\u2019m particularly proud to have secured funding to support Nevada\u2019s veterans by expanding telehealth services, fighting homelessness, and finishing the construction of Elko\u2019s national veterans cemetery. I urge the House of Representatives to stop playing games, work together in a bipartisan way, and pass this government funding package without delay.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Senator Rosen secured the following bipartisan wins in the Senate\u2019s government funding package:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2023\/10\/26\/rosen-secures-bipartisan-provision-to-expand-telehealth-services-for-veterans-in-senate-government-funding-package\/\">Increased funding for veterans\u2019 telehealth<\/a> services provided through the Department of Veterans Affairs by $15 million, a $5.5 million increase over last year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Increased funding to help Nevada <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2023\/10\/31\/rosen-secures-bipartisan-amendment-to-help-nevada-address-influx-of-mormon-crickets-in-senate-government-funding-package\/\">address the influx of Mormon cricket<\/a> plaguing communities by 20 percent to $6 million.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Senator Rosen led or co-led efforts to secure the following provisions for Nevada in the Senate\u2019s government funding package:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bipartisan provision requiring the VA<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2023\/03\/17\/senators-rosen-cramer-and-representatives-lee-gonzales-introduce-bipartisan-bicameral-bill-to-address-veteran-mental-health-crisis\/\"> <\/a>to prioritize funds for telehealth and mental health programs in states with the highest rate of suicide among members of the Armed Forces and veterans.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bipartisan provision preventing the VA from significantly reducing their reimbursement rates for ambulance transportation services, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2023\/10\/06\/rosen-takes-action-to-protect-nevada-veterans-access-to-emergency-medical-transportation\/#:~:text=Senator%20Rosen%20has%20joined%20the,veterans%20won't%20be%20affected.\">protecting access to critical emergency care for veterans in rural communities<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bipartisan provision restoring funding for the USDA\u2019s Office of Urban Agriculture and Innovation Production, which provides support to urban and small-scale agriculture producers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>$553,000 for continued work building a <a href=\"https:\/\/elkodaily.com\/news\/local\/rosen-pushes-funding-for-elko-national-cemetery\/article_30b345c8-51b3-11ee-ab57-a71c894b4eb3.html\">national veterans cemetery<\/a> in Elko.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$30 million for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2023\/05\/12\/rosen-leads-colleagues-in-requesting-full-funding-for-key-housing-programs-to-address-affordable-housing-crisis%EF%BF%BC\/\">HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing program (HUD-VASH)<\/a>, which provides affordable housing vouchers to help homeless veterans.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$168 million for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2023\/05\/12\/rosen-leads-colleagues-in-requesting-full-funding-for-key-housing-programs-to-address-affordable-housing-crisis%EF%BF%BC\/\">NeighborWorks America<\/a>, which helps create opportunities for Americans to live in affordable homes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$37 million for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2023\/05\/05\/during-small-business-week-rosen-announces-push-for-increased-funding-to-support-small-businesses\/\">Rural Business Development Grants<\/a>, which support the development and growth of rural small and emerging businesses through planning, technical assistance, job training, and other business development needs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$60 million for grants through USDA\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2023\/07\/24\/rosen-lummis-introduce-bipartisan-legislation-to-expand-rural-telehealth-education-access-in-nevada\/\">Distance Learning and Telemedicine program<\/a>, which helps rural communities use advanced telecommunications technology to connect to each other and the world.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$2 million for the National Institute of Food and Agriculture\u2019s Women and Minorities in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics program, which supports increasing the number of women and minorities from rural areas in STEM fields.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">###<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Senator Rosen Secured Major Provisions To Help Nevada Veterans, Address Housing Crisis, And Fight Mormon Crickets WASHINGTON, DC \u2013 U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) announced that she secured key priorities and funding wins for Nevada in the bipartisan government funding package that passed through the Senate.
