The senators\u2019 resolution highlights and celebrates the importance of STEM Education in the United States and emphasizes the need to bolster and diversify the STEM workforce. Today also marks the two-year anniversary of Senators Rosen and Capito <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2021\/11\/08\/on-national-stem-day-rosen-capito-launch-senates-first-women-in-stem-caucus\/\">launching <\/a>the Senate\u2019s first Women in STEM Caucus, a bipartisan group that works to advance women\u2019s participation in STEM education and careers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs a former computer programmer, I know firsthand how important STEM education is for the jobs of the future,\u201d <strong>dijo el Senador Rosen.<\/strong> \u201cThis bipartisan resolution recognizes November 8th as National STEM Day to celebrate STEM education and encourage more students to pursue careers in these fields.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSTEM fields are where the in-demand jobs are right now, and it\u2019s where they will be in the future. These are jobs in industries that are critical to our economy, will help our states and country as a whole grow,\u201d <strong>said Senator Capito.<\/strong> \u201cI am proud to help introduce this resolution designating Nov. 8 as National STEM Day to celebrate this growing field and inspire the next generation to get excited and involved in this field.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe greatly appreciate Senator Rosen\u2019s efforts as a champion of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education,\u201d <strong>said James Brown, Executive Director, STEM Education Coalition.<\/strong> \u201cHighlighting the important role that STEM fields play in our economy and in the prosperous future lives of our nation\u2019s youth is deserving of a well-earned day of recognition.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This bipartisan resolution has been endorsed by STEM Education Coalition, Society of Women Engineers, the Afterschool Alliance, the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, Center for Excellence in Education, the Association for Women in Science, Code.org, and The American Mathematical Society. In addition to Senators Rosen and Capito, it is co-sponsored by Senator Tina Smith (D-MN).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senator Rosen has led the push to create more opportunities for everyone in the STEM fields. Earlier this year, Senator Rosen introduced her bipartisan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2023\/03\/06\/senators-rosen-hyde-smith-kelly-and-reps-houlahan-baird-to-introduce-bipartisan-legislation-to-support-workers-entering-or-returning-to-stem-careers\/\"><em>STEM RESTART Act<\/em><\/a>, which would support mid-career internships for workers looking to return or transition into the STEM workforce. Last year, Rosen\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2021\/04\/29\/rosen-wicker-cornyn-hassan-re-introduce-bipartisan-legislation-to-improve-access-to-stem-education-in-rural-areas\/\"><em>Rural STEM Education Act<\/em><\/a>, which breaks down barriers rural students face in accessing STEM education, was signed into law as part of the <em>CHIPS and Science Act<\/em>.
