This includes addressing Nevada\u2019s doctor shortages by increasing the number of Medicare-supported residency positions, lowering skyrocketing drug costs, and protecting coverage for Americans with pre-existing conditions. I urge all Nevadans to take advantage of Nevada\u2019s special enrollment period by finding the right plan for themselves and their family.\u201d<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<u><strong>BACKGROUND:<\/strong><\/u> The Silver State Health Exchange announced a special enrollment period for qualified Nevadans, from March 17, 2020 through April 15, 2020. Nevadans who don\u2019t have insurance can get covered by visiting <a href=\"http:\/\/nvhealthlink.com\/\">http:\/\/nvhealthlink.com\/<\/a> and enroll in subsidized coverage that will protect them and their families as a result of the COVID-19 public health crisis.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nLast week, Senator Rosen joined Senate colleagues in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/wake-coronavirus-rosen-cortez-masto-colleagues-urge-trump-administration-reverse-lawsuit-against\/\">sending a letter <\/a>to President Trump urging him to reverse his policy of refusing to defend the constitutionality of the ACA in the Texas vs. United States lawsuit, and cease all other attempts to undermine our nation\u2019s health care law.<\/p>\n<p>As her first action in the Senate, Senator Rosen joined Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/rosen-helps-introduce-senate-resolution-defend-constitutionality-aca\/\">introducing a resolution<\/a> that would authorize Senate Legal Counsel to intervene in Texas v. United States \u2013 a pending lawsuit in federal court, on behalf of the U.S. Senate, in order to defend the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act and its coverage protections for people with pre-existing conditions. Just last week, the Trump Administration filed a brief in this case calling for the courts to strike down the ACA in its entirety.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Last year, Senator Rosen also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/rosen-helps-introduce-resolution-urging-newly-confirmed-attorney-general-barr-defend-health-care\/\">helped introduce a resolution<\/a> that would provide the sense of the Senate that the Justice Department should reverse its policy of refusing to defend the constitutionality of the ACA, including the law\u2019s coverage protections for those with pre-existing conditions, in Texas v.
