Thanks to the <em>Inflation Reduction Act,<\/em> the 5% co-insurance payment for seniors with high drug costs has been eliminated, meaning that Nevadans on Medicare Part D will <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kff.org\/medicare\/issue-brief\/changes-to-medicare-part-d-in-2024-and-2025-under-the-inflation-reduction-act-and-how-enrollees-will-benefit\/\">no longer have to pay<\/a> more than $3,300 out-of-pocket for brand-name prescriptions. Starting in 2025, this cap will be lowered to $2,000 annually, providing for even greater savings for Nevada seniors. More than 580,000 Nevadans are currently enrolled in Medicare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAt a time when Nevadans are experiencing rising costs and inflation, I\u2019m so proud to have helped effectively cap the out-of-pocket costs of prescription drugs and lower costs for seniors,\u201d <strong>dijo el Senador Rosen.<\/strong> \u201cNo Nevadan should have to break the bank to pay for prescription drugs, and I\u2019ll keep fighting in the Senate to lower costs for all.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senator Rosen has been a leader in fighting to lower prescription drug costs. She helped pass the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2022\/08\/07\/rosen-votes-to-pass-inflation-reduction-act\/\"><em>Inflation Reduction Act<\/em><\/a> to lower prescription drug costs for seniors, lower health care premiums, and cap the costs of insulin at $35\/month. Senator Rosen then joined Senate colleagues in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2023\/09\/20\/rosen-joins-brief-urging-federal-court-to-uphold-medicares-ability-to-negotiate-lower-prescription-drug-costs\/\">filing an amicus brief<\/a> urging a federal court to uphold the constitutionality of the law.
