As Senator Rosen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2024\/02\/28\/thanks-to-bipartisan-pact-act-rosen-announces-new-historic-expansion-of-va-health-care-for-toxic-exposed-veterans\/\">announced<\/a> last week, starting today veterans who were exposed to toxins and other hazards while serving in the military will be eligible to enroll directly in VA health care without having to apply for benefits first. This means that veterans who served during the Vietnam War, the Gulf War, Iraq, Afghanistan, or in any combat zone after 9\/11 \u2013 in addition to those who never deployed but were exposed to toxins or hazards during their service \u2013 are now eligible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senator Rosen has been leading efforts to support our nation\u2019s veterans. Last year, she introduced the bipartisan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2023\/03\/17\/senators-rosen-cramer-and-representatives-lee-gonzales-introduce-bipartisan-bicameral-bill-to-address-veteran-mental-health-crisis\/\"><em>VA Zero Suicide Demonstration Project Act<\/em><\/a> to take steps to improve access to mental health services for our veterans.
