She secured funding to increase access to affordable housing for veterans, continue building the first national veterans cemetery in Elko, strengthen the tourism economy, invest in law enforcement, combat drought and fight wildfires, and more. Senator Rosen also secured funding to fill the new Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Travel and Tourism position that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2022\/12\/20\/rosen-bipartisan-bill-to-strengthen-travel-and-tourism-included-in-government-funding-package\/\">she created<\/a> to support the travel and tourism industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Senate\u2019s bipartisan government funding package includes two of Senator Rosen\u2019s bipartisan amendments to increase funding for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2023\/10\/26\/rosen-secures-bipartisan-provision-to-expand-telehealth-services-for-veterans-in-senate-government-funding-package\/\">veterans\u2019 access to telehealth<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2023\/10\/31\/rosen-secures-bipartisan-amendment-to-help-nevada-address-influx-of-mormon-crickets-in-senate-government-funding-package\/\">protect communities in northern Nevada<\/a> from the swarm of Mormon crickets. This package also includes Senator Rosen\u2019s requests for funding for law enforcement, renewable energy, and transportation infrastructure projects across Nevada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been working across the aisle to deliver on priorities for Nevada, particularly to support our veterans and invest in law enforcement,\u201d <strong>dijo el Senador Rosen. <\/strong>\u201cI\u2019m also proud to have secured funding to increase access to affordable housing, strengthen our tourism economy, and fight drought and wildfires. I\u2019ll always fight to put Nevada first.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Among these investments is the more than $147 million in Community Project Funding for 76 Nevada programs and construction projects \u2013 including more than $7 million for 9 law enforcement projects \u2013 that Senator Rosen previously <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2024\/03\/07\/rosen-cortez-masto-secure-major-federal-funding-for-nevada-law-enforcement-community-projects-across-state\/\"><strong>announced<\/strong><\/a><strong> she secured in this legislation. These include key priorities for Nevada\u2019s servicemembers, including:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>$7.5 million to build a new dormitory at Nellis Air Force Base<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$2.7 million for a Combined Support Maintenance Shop and $5.49 million for a General Instruction Facility for the Nevada Army National Guard at the Floyd Edsall Training Center in North Las Vegas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$590,000 for a Ready Building at the Nevada Army National Guard\u2019s Harry Reid Training Center in Stead.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In addition to Community Project Funding, Senator Rosen secured the following wins for Nevada in this bipartisan government funding package:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>$3.5 million to fund the new Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Travel and Tourism position, implementing a key portion of Senator Rosen&#8217;s bipartisan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2022\/12\/20\/rosen-bipartisan-bill-to-strengthen-travel-and-tourism-included-in-government-funding-package\/\"><em>Omnibus Travel and Tourism Act<\/em><\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$553,000 for continued work building a <a href=\"https:\/\/elkodaily.com\/news\/local\/rosen-pushes-funding-for-elko-national-cemetery\/article_30b345c8-51b3-11ee-ab57-a71c894b4eb3.html\">national veterans cemetery<\/a> in Elko.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Increased funding for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2023\/10\/31\/rosen-secures-bipartisan-amendment-to-help-nevada-address-influx-of-mormon-crickets-in-senate-government-funding-package\/\">Mormon cricket suppression<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Increased funding for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2023\/10\/26\/rosen-secures-bipartisan-provision-to-expand-telehealth-services-for-veterans-in-senate-government-funding-package\/\">expanded VA telehealth<\/a> for veterans.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2023\/09\/22\/rosen-cortez-masto-call-for-permanent-salary-increase-for-wildland-firefighters-in-government-funding-bill\/\">Maintaining pay increases<\/a> for federal wildland firefighters.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Funding for a key federal program to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/05\/FY24-HUD-VASH-Appropriations-Letter-FINAL.pdf\">tackle veteran homelessness<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>No funding for Yucca Mountain.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>More than $4 billion for wildfire suppression.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$118 million for the Geothermal Technologies Office and $100 million for enhanced geothermal energy demonstrations to support a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2024\/02\/23\/rosen-helps-push-for-major-investments-in-geothermal-energy\/\">key clean energy<\/a> industry for Nevada.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>More than $20 million for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2023\/05\/05\/during-small-business-week-rosen-announces-push-for-increased-funding-to-support-small-businesses\/\">Rural Business Development Grant Program<\/a> to support the growth and development of small and emerging businesses in rural areas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$6.1 million for Regional Climate Centers, which will provide them \u2013 including the Western Regional Climate Center in Reno \u2013&nbsp; the resources they need to provide comprehensive up-to-date climate information to government agencies, farmers, water resource managers, businesses, emergency managers, and the public.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Over $19 million in funding to support the Bureau of Land Management\u2019s National Conservation Lands and cultural resources protection efforts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>$2 million for the Department of Agriculture Women and Minorities in STEM Program.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The bipartisan legislation Rosen supported also included:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Funding for key federal programs to help invest in building more affordable housing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Historic investments to increase access to mental health care for veterans.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Over $1 billion to support state, local, and tribal law enforcement and strengthen community policing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>More than $10 billion to help implement the bipartisan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2022\/08\/09\/rosen-backed-chips-and-science-act-signed-into-law\/\"><em>CHIPS and Science Act<\/em><\/a> that Senator Rosen helped pass to increase U.S. economic competitiveness in manufacturing, clean energy, and scientific research.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Investments in hiring more air traffic controllers to keep air travel safe and reduce delays for passengers.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Investments to combat drought, promote renewable energy, and protect communities from extreme weather.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p
