The current housing affordability crisis has hit Nevada particularly hard, making it the number one state for declining mortgage affordability. The <em>First-Time Homebuyer Tax Credit Act<\/em> will create a tax credit worth up to 10 percent of a home\u2019s purchase price, up to $15,000, for low- and moderate-income first-time homebuyers. This credit would be available at the point of sale to help individuals and families without sufficient funds for a down payment to afford a home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSkyrocketing home prices are making it more difficult for hardworking Nevadans to achieve their dream of owning a home,\u201d <strong>dijo el Senador Rosen.<\/strong> \u201cOne of the main barriers to homeownership is being able to afford a down payment, and I\u2019m working at the federal level to bring relief to Nevadans. This bill will help lower costs and make it easier for first-time homebuyers to afford a down payment. I\u2019ll keep fighting to lower housing costs for hardworking families in our state.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senator Rosen has been fighting to lower housing costs for Nevadans. This week, she announced that she helped secure more than <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2024\/03\/12\/following-rosen-push-historic-1-3-billion-in-funding-secured-for-housing-in-tribal-communities\/\">$1.34 billion<\/a> in funding for Tribal housing programs as part of the first bipartisan government funding package for Fiscal Year 2024. Senator Rosen also recently introduced the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2024\/01\/09\/rosen-introduces-legislation-to-crack-down-on-corporate-price-gouging-in-the-housing-market\/\"><em>Housing Oversight and Mitigating Exploitation<\/em> (HOME) <em>Act<\/em><\/a> to crack down on housing price gouging by corporate investors driving up home prices by buying up housing stock. Last year, she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2023\/05\/12\/rosen-leads-colleagues-in-requesting-full-funding-for-key-housing-programs-to-address-affordable-housing-crisis%EF%BF%BC\/#:~:text=Senator%20Rosen%20has%20been%20working,affordable%20housing%20in%20the%20state.\">led her colleagues in a letter<\/a> to Senate appropriators requesting they fund the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development\u2019s Veterans Affairs and Supportive Housing program.
