The senators secured this money through Community Project Funding in the Fiscal Year 2023 bipartisan government funding package, which was signed into law in December 2022. This funding will help launch and boost new regional Industry Sector Partnerships to grow workforce development and train the next generation of workers in Southern Nevada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWorkforce development and skills training are key to good-paying, high-demand jobs that don\u2019t require college degrees,\u201d <strong>dijo el Senador Rosen.<\/strong> \u201cI secured this funding to train Nevadans with the skills necessary to fill these jobs and meet the demands of our state\u2019s economy, and I\u2019m proud to see it was delivered. I\u2019ll continue fighting to create more jobs and empower our workers with the training to fulfill them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs a Senator, my focus has always been on preparing our workforce for good-paying jobs in order to support our working families and to strengthen Nevada\u2019s economy. This federal funding I secured will support Workforce Connections\u2019 efforts to provide Nevada workers with the resources they need to prepare for in-demand jobs and find rewarding opportunities in our clean energy, hospitality, education, and health care industries,\u201d <strong>said Senator Cortez Masto.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis investment in Southern Nevada\u2019s economic growth will further our commitment to align training with employer needs by working directly with businesses through our Industry Sector Partnerships,\u201d <strong>said Jaime Cruz, Workforce Connections Executive Director. <\/strong>\u201cWe are thankful to Senator Rosen, Senator Cortez Masto and Congresswoman Susie Lee for supporting the overall growth of our region by assisting individuals in their career development while empowering employers to help create effective workforce pipelines.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senator Rosen has been leading the effort to support Nevada\u2019s workforce amid its economic growth. Last year, Rosen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2023\/11\/22\/rosen-lummis-urge-national-science-foundation-to-implement-bipartisan-provision-to-bolster-hardrock-mining-workforce-and-critical-mineral-supply-chain\/\">sent a bipartisan letter<\/a> to the U.S. National Science Foundation Director Sethuraman Panchanathan requesting an update on the implementation of the provision they secured in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2022\/08\/09\/rosen-backed-chips-and-science-act-signed-into-law\/\"><em>CHIPS and Science Act<\/em><\/a> to support the critical mineral mining industry and bolster the mining workforce. Last Congress, Senators Cortez Masto and Rosen secured <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2022\/08\/03\/rosen-applauds-nearly-15-million-for-nevada-workforce-and-economic-developmentz\/\">$14.9 million<\/a> in funding to support workforce development projects in manufacturing, health care, information technology, and transportation across northern Nevada.
