WASHINGTON, D.C.<\/span><\/b> \u2013 <\/span><\/span>U.S. Senator Jacky <\/span>Rosa <\/span>(D-NV) released the following statement announcing that the <\/span><\/span>Never <\/span>Again <\/span>Education Act<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/u><\/i>, <\/span><\/span>bipartisan legislation she introduced alongside Senators Kevin Cramer (R-ND), Marco Rubio (R-FL), and Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) has been signed into law. The bill<\/span>, introduced in the House by Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY), <\/span><\/span>would establish a dedicated federal fund through the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum to provide teachers with resources and training necessary to teach our students the important lessons of the Holocaust.<\/span> <\/span><\/span>The legislation garnered the support of 80 bipartisan Senate cosponsors and over 300 House cosponsors, <\/span>passed the House 395-5<\/a> <\/span>in January, <\/span>and passed the Senate by voice vote<\/a> <\/span>on May 13.<\/span><\/o_p><\/p>\n

\u201cAt a time when anti-Semitism is <\/span>growing <\/span><\/span>here in the United States and <\/span>across the globe,<\/span> <\/span>the best way we can work to prevent an atrocity like the Holocaust from occurring <\/span>again <\/span>is through education<\/span>,\u201d <\/span>said Senator <\/span>Rosen.<\/b> <\/span>\u201cI could not be prouder to see that this bipartisan legislation <\/span><\/span>I introduced <\/span>is now law, <\/span><\/span>giving schools needed resources to adequately cover one of the darkest chapters in our history. Through education, we can utilize lessons from the past to prevent anti-Semitism today. I will continue working in Congress to fight back <\/span>against hate in whatever form it takes.<\/span>\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/o_p><\/p>\n

los Never <\/span>Again <\/span>Education Act <\/i>is backed by numerous organizations, including Hadassah, Jewish Federations of North America, Christians United for Israel, the Anti-Defamation League, American Jewish Committee, Simon Wiesenthal Center, Union for Reform Judaism, National Council of Jewish Women, World Jewish Congress North America, B\u2019nai B\u2019rith International, Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, Agudath Israel of America, HIAS, Jewish Women International, National Coalition Supporting Eurasian Jewry, Republican Jewish Coalition, American Jewish Congress, Jewish War Veterans of the USA, and the National Education Association, among many others.<\/span><\/o_p><\/p>\n

Last year, Rosen launched the <\/span>Senate Bipartisan Task Force for Combating Anti-Semitism<\/span><\/a><\/span>, with co-chair Senator James Lankford (R-OK).<\/span><\/o_p><\/p>\n

In January, Senators Rosen, Lankford, Cardin, Cramer, and Menendez <\/span>introduced a resolution<\/span><\/a> <\/span>commemorating the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp by Allied Forces during World War II. The bipartisan resolution <\/span>unanimously passed the Senate<\/span><\/a> <\/span>in February.<\/span><\/o_p><\/p>\n

Senator Rosen holds the distinction of being the third female Jewish Senator in U.S. history, as well as the first former synagogue president to serve in the United States Senate.
