I\u2019ll continue advocating for Nevada to receive its fair share of federal funding.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Maryland Parkway corridor plays a key role in driving Southern Nevada\u2019s economy, from moving our workers to supporting small businesses, and I\u2019m proud to have advocated for this funding,\u201d <strong>said Senator Cortez Masto<\/strong>. \u201cThis grant will help RTC purchase cleaner buses, be more efficient, shorten wait times, and improve road safety for transit riders, cyclists, and pedestrians alike. I will keep working to strengthen our economy, revitalize our infrastructure, and keep Nevadans safe.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are incredibly appreciative to our federal delegation in helping us to secure this FTA grant that will help transform Maryland Parkway for the benefit of everyone in the region,\u201d <strong>said M.J. Maynard, RTC CEO<\/strong>. \u201cAs a vital corridor for the Las Vegas Valley, this project extends more than 13 miles and includes many major destinations and employment centers, including the Harry Reid International Airport, UNLV, Boulevard Mall, Sunrise Hospital, and Las Vegas Medical District, better connecting residents to jobs, education, medical services, shopping and neighborhood services.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rtcsnv.com\/maryland-parkway\/\">Maryland Parkway corridor<\/a> is home to 90,000 Nevada families, and it supports 80,000 jobs while carrying approximately 9,000 transit riders and 35,000 vehicles daily. RTC\u2019s Maryland Parkway Bus Rapid Transit project will expand transit service along Maryland Parkway, including enhanced transit stations, shared bus-bike lanes, wider sidewalks, and improvements to lighting and landscaping.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senators Rosen and Cortez Masto worked to pass the\u00a0<em>Bipartisan Infrastructure Law<\/em>\u00a0to create good-paying jobs, upgrade infrastructure such as roads and broadband in Nevada, and update schools across the country.
