The bipartisan Nevada delegation expressed their deep concerns about the effects the plan would have on mail service reliability and local jobs, and pushed USPS officials to instead listen to local Nevada leaders, businesses, and residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn our meeting with USPS executives today, they were unable to provide us with detailed explanations of how this misguided proposal is good for Nevada,\u201d <strong>dijo el Senador Rosen.<\/strong> \u201cI\u2019m outraged by the lack of answers and transparency we have received on a matter that could lead to delayed mail delivery for Nevadans who depend on it. I won\u2019t stop pushing to stop this ill-advised plan, and I look forward to questioning Postmaster General Louis DeJoy about it next week.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn today\u2019s meeting with the USPS I made it clear that moving the Reno distribution center to California is a mistake that would kill Nevada jobs and could delay the delivery of Nevadans\u2019 essential medications, benefits, and ballots,\u201d <strong>said Senator Cortez Masto.<\/strong> \u201cNot a single Nevadan I\u2019ve talked to thinks this is a good idea, and I will continue fighting to stop it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDespite today\u2019s meeting with the Postal Service, anything resembling Reno-specific justifications for the proposed plan to ship Nevada\u2019s mail to Sacramento and back is still unavailable,\u201d <strong>said Congressman Amodei. <\/strong>\u201cI want to thank House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) for meeting with me today to discuss how we can best oversee the Postal Service, as well as Senators Cortez Masto and Rosen for their part in helping to finally organize a sit-down meeting with officials from the Postal Service, despite months of requests. There is still much to be done in getting the justification for sending Nevada-addressed mail to another state before being sent back to Nevada for delivery.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senators Rosen and Cortez Masto, and Congressman Amodei have consistently opposed the proposed relocation because of the impact it would have on mail service reliability and local jobs. They recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2024\/02\/29\/rosen-leads-bipartisan-opposition-to-relocation-of-reno-postal-processing-and-distribution-center-to-california\/\">sent a bipartisan letter<\/a> expressing serious concern about the proposed relocation of mail processing in Reno.
