To all of Nevada\u2019s Dreamers and undocumented youth, we are here for you.<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/span>Please reach out to my office for any questions or assistance you may need.\u201d&nbsp;<\/span><u1_p><\/u1_p><o_p><\/o_p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><b><u><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt;font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\">BACKGROUND:<\/span><\/u><\/b><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt;font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\">&nbsp;On June 19th, following the U.S. Supreme Court decision, Senator Rosen<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"color:#1F497D\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/rosen-cortez-masto-urge-trump-protect-young-immigrants-eligible-daca-following-landmark-scotus\/\"><span style=\"color:#954F72\">sent a letter to President Trump<\/span><\/a><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><\/span>urging him to change course and use his executive authority to protect immigrants who are eligible for the DACA program.<\/span><u1_p><\/u1_p><o_p><\/o_p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt;font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\">Also on June 22nd, Senator Rosen<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cortezmasto.senate.gov\/news\/press-releases\/cortez-masto-rosen-call-on-senate-to-give-dreamers-a-path-to-citizenship\"><span style=\"color:#954F72\">sent a letter to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell<\/span><\/a><span class=\"apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span>(R-KY) calling on him to immediately take up the bipartisan House-passed American Dream and Promise Act, which will establish a pathway<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span>to citizenship for Dreamers and immigrants with Temporary Protected Status (TPS) or Deferred Enforced Departure (DED).<\/span><u1_p><\/u1_p><o_p><\/o_p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt;font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\">In both letters, Rosen and her colleagues noted that in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, more than 200,000 DACA recipients are<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;<\/span><span style=\"color:black\">working in occupational areas that the Trump Administration\u2019s<span class=\"apple-converted-space\">&nbsp;U.S.&nbsp;<\/span>Department of Homeland Security identifies as part of the \u201cessential critical infrastructure workforce.\u201d This includes an estimated 41,700 DACA recipients working in the health care industry, including physicians and physicians in training, intensive care nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists, nursing assistants, and health technicians.<\/span><\/span><u1_p><\/u1_p><o_p><\/o_p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt;font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\">Nevada is home to more than 13,000 Dreamers.<\/span><u1_p><\/u1_p><o_p><\/o_p><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\" class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:center\"><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt;font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\">###<\/span><u1_p><\/u1_p><o_p><\/o_p><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Watch Senator&nbsp;Rosen\u2019s full remarks&nbsp;here.
