These federal funds come from the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (HIDTA) Program, which supports federal, state, local, and Tribal law enforcement agencies\u2019 efforts to seize illicit drugs such as fentanyl, reduce drug trafficking-related violent crime, enhance data sharing and targeting for improved interdiction outcomes, and dismantle money laundering organizations. Both Senators Rosen and Cortez Masto were part of a bipartisan group of Senators who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/FY24-High-Intensity-Drug-Trafficking-Areas.pdf\">pushed for funding<\/a> for the HIDTA Program last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDrug trafficking and the flow of illicit fentanyl into the United States are fueling an overdose crisis across Nevada,\u201d <strong>dijo el Senador Rosen.<\/strong> \u201cThat\u2019s why I\u2019m working across the aisle to secure our border, stop the flow of fentanyl, and support law enforcement to keep our communities safe. I\u2019ll continue working to ensure our law enforcement is receiving the tools and resources they need to combat this epidemic.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senators Rosen and Cortez Masto have consistently worked across the aisle to support law enforcement and stop the flow of illicit drugs. Senator Cortez Masto has been working to crack down on illicit drugs since she was Nevada\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/ag.nv.gov\/uploadedFiles\/agnvgov\/Content\/About\/LongBio_CatherineCortezMasto.pdf\">Attorney General<\/a>, when she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reviewjournal.com\/news\/politics-and-government\/nevada\/lawmakers-revise-anti-meth-measure\/\">worked with<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tahoedailytribune.com\/news\/nevada-law-limits-access-to-meth-ingredients-and-boosts-penalties\/\">law enforcement<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reviewjournal.com\/news\/nevada-mexico-to-share-data\/\">Mexican officials<\/a> to combat the rise of methamphetamine manufacturing and cross-border drug trafficking. Both senators helped pass the bipartisan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2024\/04\/24\/rosen-backed-bipartisan-bill-to-crack-down-on-fentanyl-trafficking-passes-the-senate-signed-into-law\/\"><em>FEND Off Fentanyl Act<\/em><\/a>, which was signed into law last month to help combat fentanyl trafficking. Earlier this year, Senator Rosen\u2019s bipartisan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2024\/03\/19\/rosens-bipartisan-bill-to-crack-down-on-fentanyl-at-southern-border-signed-into-law\/\"><em>END FENTANYL Act<\/em><\/a> was signed into law to help crack down on drug smuggling by requiring the Customs and Border Protection Commissioner to update its drug interdiction guidance to ensure it is up to date.
