The funding from the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) will help support rural Nevada\u2019s outdoors and local tourism by delivering nearly $300,000 for facility and accessibility improvements at Harvey Sports Park in Tonopah, and more than $600,000 for campsite improvements at the Wild Horse State Recreation Area in Elko. Senators Rosen and Cortez Masto championed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2020\/08\/04\/rosen-backed-bipartisan-great-american-outdoors-act-signed-into-law\/\">permanent funding<\/a> for LWCF in the bipartisan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2020\/08\/04\/rosen-backed-bipartisan-great-american-outdoors-act-signed-into-law\/\"><em>Great American Outdoors Act<\/em><\/a> they helped pass into law.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIn Nevada, we\u2019re lucky to be surrounded by beautiful outdoors and public parks,\u201d <strong>said Senator Rosen<\/strong>. \u201cI\u2019m proud to have helped secure funding to improve recreation facilities in Tonopah and Elko. At no cost to taxpayers, LWCF\u202fsupports increased public access to and protection for federal public lands and waters\u2014including national parks, forests, wildlife refuges, and recreation areas.
