She also calls on the Administration to invest in small food producers and grocers, and support policies to lower food supply chain costs.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe must do more to protect families and lower costs so they don\u2019t have to choose between paying for groceries, rent, and prescription medications,\u201d <strong>wrote Senator Rosen<\/strong>. \u201cI ask that you work within your Administration, including with the FTC and Department of Justice, to consider the impact proposed acquisitions and mergers could have on hardworking families\u2019 pockets and block those that could raise costs for Nevadans.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI also encourage you to take proactive measures to lower grocery costs from their existing historic highs,\u201d <strong>she continued<\/strong>. \u201cThis includes investing more in small businesses and ensuring there are resources to build up our nation&#8217;s small producers, farmers, and grocers in order to increase competition and bring down prices. Earlier this year, she announced that she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2024\/02\/26\/following-rosen-push-ftc-sues-to-block-grocery-store-mega-merger\/\">successfully pushed<\/a> the FTC to sue to block the Kroger-Albertsons grocery store mega merger that could reduce competition and further raise grocery prices in the state.
