The bipartisan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2023\/10\/30\/rosen-joins-effort-to-increase-awareness-of-resources-for-veteran-homebuyers\/\"><em>VA Home Loan Awareness Act<\/em><\/a> adds a disclosure to the standard mortgage pre-qualification application to inform veterans of the VA Home Loan Program, which offers veterans exclusive opportunities for home financing like no down payment, no private mortgage insurance, and typically lower interest rates than conventional loans. Despite these benefits, only 13 percent of veterans ever utilize their VA Home Loan benefit. Studies show that only half of home-owning veterans say they were informed of this program by their lender.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNevada\u2019s current housing crisis is also impacting our veterans, and it\u2019s crucial that we help them access the benefits they\u2019ve earned to make buying a house easier and more affordable,\u201d <strong>dijo el Senador Rosen.<\/strong> \u201cI\u2019m proud that the Senate has passed bipartisan legislation I helped introduce to do just that. I will continue working across the aisle to ensure our nation\u2019s veterans can access the benefits they earned and need.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senator Rosen has been leading bipartisan efforts to support Nevada\u2019s veterans. Earlier this year, she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2024\/05\/22\/rosen-leads-colleagues-in-push-for-funding-to-address-housing-crisis-help-homeless-veterans\/\">sent a letter<\/a> to Senate Appropriators requesting funding to help homeless veterans find housing through rental assistance. Senator Rosen helped introduce bipartisan legislation to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2024\/05\/09\/rosen-rubio-introduce-bipartisan-bill-to-help-veteran-parents-better-access-g-i-benefits\/\">help veteran parents<\/a> better access G.I. Bill benefits. She introduced <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2024\/03\/27\/rosen-fischer-introduce-bipartisan-bill-to-permanently-protect-va-helpline-for-veterans\/\">bipartisan legislation<\/a> to permanently maintain a helpline for veterans to obtain information and assistance with all services from the VA. In the recent <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2024\/03\/09\/rosen-secures-nevada-priorities-in-first-bipartisan-government-funding-package-for-fy2024\/\">bipartisan government funding package<\/a>, Senator Rosen secured funding to increase access to affordable housing for veterans, continue building Nevada\u2019s first national veterans cemetery in Elko, and increase funding for veteran\u2019s access to telehealth.
