In 2023, federal agencies reported <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gao.gov\/products\/gao-24-106927\">$236 billion<\/a> in improper payments, but the true scale of improper payments is unknown because reporting requirements are lacking. The bipartisan <em>Improper Payments Transparency Act<\/em> will require the President\u2019s annual budget request to include clear and comprehensive data on improper payments each year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNevadans work hard for their money and they expect the federal government to use their tax dollars responsibly,\u201d <strong>dijo el Senador Rosen.<\/strong> \u201cI\u2019m helping introduce bipartisan legislation to increase transparency and help prevent government waste. I\u2019ll keep working to increase transparency and accountability in the federal government.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senator Rosen has been a leader in fighting government waste and protecting Nevadans\u2019 hard-earned tax dollars. Earlier this year, she helped pass <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2024\/05\/17\/rosen-helps-advance-bipartisan-legislation-to-stop-government-payments-to-people-who-have-passed-away-safeguard-taxpayer-dollars\/\">bipartisan legislation<\/a> out of committee to cut down on wasteful spending by ensuring the federal government does not make improper payments to people after they have passed away. She also joined <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2024\/05\/03\/rosen-joins-bipartisan-bill-to-reduce-waste-fraud-abuse-in-federal-spending\/\">bipartisan legislation<\/a> to investigate, review, and audit federal funding from pandemic-related programs, federal unemployment insurance, Small Business Administration loans, and other landmark legislation to stop any waste, fraud, and abuse of taxpayer dollars. Additionally, Senator Rosen recently announced that the bipartisan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2024\/03\/25\/rosen-backed-bipartisan-bill-to-increase-transparency-for-delayed-or-over-budget-federal-projects-passes-the-senate\/\"><em>Billion Dollar Boondoggle Act<\/em><\/a>, legislation she joined to increase transparency in government projects that are delayed or over budget, passed the Senate.
