I won\u2019t stop fighting for women\u2019s voices and for our equality in public office, in the board room, at home, in classrooms, and all across the globe.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:11pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,sans-serif\"><b><u><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\"><span style=\"color:black\">BACKGROUND:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/u><\/b><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\"><span style=\"color:black\">&nbsp;In recognition of the 19<sup>th<\/sup> Amendment\u2019s significance, <a href=\"https:\/\/americanhistory.si.edu\/creating-icons\/senators-suffrage\/jacky-rosen\"><span style=\"color:#0563c1\">Senator Rosen contributed an essay<\/span><\/a> to the Smithsonian\u2019s National Museum of American History on the women\u2019s suffrage movement in Nevada and the importance of women gaining the right to participate in America\u2019s democracy.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:11pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\"><span style=\"color:black\">Last year, Senator Rosen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/commemoration-100th-anniversary-rosen-sends-letter-requesting-stamp-honor-19th-amendment\/\"><span style=\"color:#0563c1\">joined her fellow female Senate colleagues in a bipartisan letter<\/span><\/a> to the Citizens\u2019 Stamp Advisory Committee requesting that the Committee recommend a stamp in honor of the 100th anniversary of the passage of the 19th Amendment, granting women the right to vote.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:11pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\"><span style=\"color:black\">Senator <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\">Rosen is a co-sponsor of Senate Joint Resolution 15, the proposed Equal Rights Amendment (ERA), which if ratified, would constitutionally guarantee equal protection under the law to each American citizen, regardless of sex<span style=\"color:black\">.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:11pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\">Senator Rosen is also a co-sponsor of Senate Joint Resolution 6, a bipartisan joint resolution that would remove the ratification deadline for the original Equal Rights Amendment, approved by Congress in 1972.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:11pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\">In 2017, Nevada became the 36th state to ratify the ERA.
