The bipartisan bill reauthorizes critical support programs that are set to expire later this year. Last week in Las Vegas, Senator Rosen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2024\/08\/30\/rosen-cortez-masto-highlight-funding-they-secured-to-support-southern-nevadas-first-responders-mental-health\/\">highlighted<\/a> nearly $1 million in federal funding she and Senator Catherine Cortez Masto helped secure to provide mental health training and support for Clark County firefighters and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Officers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cNevada law enforcement officers are exposed to some of the most difficult situations imaginable as they work to keep our communities safe, and it takes a toll both physically and mentally,\u201d <strong>dijo el Senador Rosen.<\/strong> \u201cThat\u2019s why I\u2019ve been proud to secure nearly a million dollars to support mental health training for first responders in southern Nevada, and I\u2019ve joined this bipartisan bill to reauthorize critical family support and mental health programs for law enforcement. I\u2019m glad it\u2019s passed the Senate, and I\u2019ll keep working across the aisle to get it signed into law to provide Nevada\u2019s law enforcement community all of the resources, support, and tools they need to do their jobs safely and effectively.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senator Rosen has been working to support Nevada\u2019s law enforcement community and ensure it has the resources needed to fight crime and keep communities safe. Earlier this year, bipartisan legislation she helped pass to address the police officer shortage and hire and retain more police officers was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2024\/05\/28\/rosen-backed-bipartisan-bill-to-hire-and-retain-more-police-officers-signed-into-law\/\">convirti\u00f3 en ley<\/a>. Senator Rosen also secured <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2024\/03\/07\/rosen-cortez-masto-secure-major-federal-funding-for-nevada-law-enforcement-community-projects-across-state\/\">over $7 million for law enforcement projects<\/a> across Nevada through the Fiscal Year 2024 government funding bill, including for the Reno Police Department.
