This comes as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.propublica.org\/article\/georgia-abortion-ban-amber-thurman-death\">new reporting from ProPublica<\/a> shows anti-choice abortion bans are preventing women from receiving life-saving emergency care, resulting in preventable deaths. Since the overturn of <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em> over two years ago, <a href=\"https:\/\/states.guttmacher.org\/policies\/\">nearly two dozen anti-choice states<\/a> have banned or severely restricted access to abortion. These strict laws have created confusion around the treatment doctors can provide even when a pregnant woman\u2019s life is in danger, as physicians fear that they may lose their medical license, be sued, or even be charged with a felony and face time in prison if they perform life-saving emergency care.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSince <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em> was overturned more than two years ago, extreme abortion bans across our nation are restricting women\u2019s ability to get life-saving care,\u201d <strong>dijo el Senador Rosen.<\/strong> \u201cAll women, regardless of where they live, should be able to access the emergency medical care they need, which is why I\u2019m helping introduce this resolution. I\u2019ll continue standing up for women\u2019s freedom to make decisions over their own bodies and working to restore <em>Roe.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The full text of the resolution can be read <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/EMTALA-Resolution.pdf\">HERE<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senator Rosen has been working to restore reproductive freedoms and oppose anti-choice efforts to restrict access to reproductive rights. Senator Rosen recently <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2024\/06\/19\/ahead-of-second-anniversary-of-decision-overturning-roe-v-wade-rosen-calls-out-republican-attempts-to-control-womens-bodies\/\">blasted<\/a> anti-choice extremists for pushing to overturn the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA) in order to deny women access to emergency reproductive care, which the U.S. Supreme Court sent back to lower courts. Earlier this year, she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2024\/02\/27\/rosen-joins-bill-to-protect-womens-access-to-start-or-grow-family-through-ivf\/\">joined legislation<\/a> to protect IVF treatments in federal law. Senator Rosen also helped introduce the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2023\/04\/26\/rosen-helps-introduce-legislation-to-protect-doctors-providing-reproductive-care-from-prosecution-by-anti-choice-states\/\"><em>Let Doctors Provide Reproductive Health Care Act<\/em><\/a> to protect health care professionals from being prosecuted for providing reproductive care to their patients, which Senate Republicans recently blocked.
