Each year, tens of thousands of visitors come to Nevada to see and experience our majestic public lands and monuments first-hand.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:11pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\">\u201cPublic lands make up a big part of our state. In fact, over 80 percent of our land is managed by the federal government, and well over 60 percent of Nevada \u2013 close to 48 million acres \u2013 is managed by the Bureau of Land Management,\u201d <b>Senator Rosen continued. <\/b>\u201cI stand here today because our nation\u2019s public lands are in danger \u2013 not just from the threat of climate change, or from the deadly wildfires which are raging across our nation\u2019s Western states \u2013 but also from an unconfirmed and unaccountable acting head of the Bureau of Land Management, Mr. William Perry Pendley, and it is well past time for him to go.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:11pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\">\u201cMr. Pendley must step down or be removed.
