The Rosen-backed <em>Inflation Reduction Act<\/em> will cap Medicare Part D beneficiaries\u2019 total out-of-pocket costs for prescription drugs at no more than $2,000 a year, and it will allow them to opt-in to the new Medicare Prescription Payment Plan to spread out any out-of-pocket costs over several months. I\u2019ll keep working in the Senate to lower costs for hardworking Nevadans.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senator Rosen has been leading the fight to lower prescription drug costs. Last month, she joined her colleagues in filing an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2024\/09\/20\/rosen-colleagues-file-amicus-brief-urging-court-to-uphold-medicares-ability-to-negotiate-lower-prescription-drug-prices\/\">amicus brief<\/a> supporting the federal law they helped pass to give Medicare the power to negotiate for lower prescription drug prices. Earlier this year, Senator Rosen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2024\/05\/01\/rosen-cornyn-introduce-bipartisan-bill-to-lower-out-of-pocket-prescription-drug-costs-for-seniors\/\">introduced bipartisan legislation<\/a> to lower out-of-pocket prescription drug costs for seniors.
