This proposal is the final step needed to deliver the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2023\/06\/26\/rosen-secures-more-than-416-million-to-connect-nevada-households-to-high-speed-internet\/\">$416 million<\/a> in funding from the Broadband, Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program that Senator Rosen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2021\/08\/10\/rosen-votes-to-pass-infrastructure-investment-and-jobs-act-secures-wins-for-nevada\/\">helped create<\/a> as part of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and which she successfully secured for Nevada after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2023\/01\/05\/rosen-cortez-masto-send-letter-urging-fcc-to-fix-deeply-flawed-nevada-broadband-map\/\">pressing<\/a> the Federal Communications Commission to fix their deeply-flawed maps.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI write in strong support of Nevada\u2019s Final Proposal to the Broadband, Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program,\u201d <strong>wrote Senator Rosen.<\/strong> \u201cThe Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, which I was proud to help write and pass into law, created the BEAD program with the explicit mission to close the digital divide. This program is the largest federal investment in broadband in U.S. history. As part of this historic commitment, Nevada alone will receive $416 million in federal funding with the goal of bringing high-speed, reliable broadband to every Nevadan.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThroughout its development of the Initial Proposal, Challenge Process, and Final Proposal for BEAD funding, Nevada\u2019s Office of Science, Innovation, and Technology (OSIT) has consulted with unserved, underserved, rural, and tribal communities in our state, as well as providers, local governments, and community anchor institutions,\u201d <strong>she continued.<\/strong> \u201cI urge the NTIA to stand ready to receive Nevada\u2019s final application under this program, which will fund projects to connect the most rural and hard-to-reach Nevadans to high-speed, reliable broadband. Senator Rosen was also a leading author of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2021\/11\/15\/senator-jacky-rosen-applauds-infrastructure-investment-and-jobs-act-becoming-law-attends-white-house-bill-signing-for-historic-bipartisan-package\/\">broadband section<\/a> of the <em>Bipartisan Infrastructure Law<\/em>, which is delivering historic funding to connect more Nevada households to reliable, high-speed internet. Senator Rosen also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2024\/05\/22\/rosen-secured-high-speed-internet-funding-helping-create-nevadas-middle-mile-network\/\">announced<\/a> that funding she secured through her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2023\/06\/16\/in-las-vegas-rosen-to-announce-more-than-43-million-she-secured-to-expand-access-to-high-speed-internet-in-nevada\/\"><em>Middle Mile Broadband Deployment Act<\/em><\/a><em> <\/em>would be used to establish Nevada\u2019s Middle Mile Network and support 2,500 miles of fiber optic network.
