The U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon sided with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2024\/03\/01\/icymi-following-rosen-push-ftc-sues-to-block-grocery-store-mega-merger\/\">filed <\/a>the case in the wake of Rosen\u2019s call for action, in a ruling that will immediately halt the merger from moving forward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Kroger-Albertsons mega merger would have reduced competition and raised grocery prices at a time when Nevadans are already being squeezed by high costs,\u201d <strong>dijo el Senador Rosen.<\/strong> \u201cI\u2019m glad to have helped block this corporate mega-merger and prevent higher costs for hardworking families.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senator Rosen has been a leader in the fight to block the Kroger-Albertsons merger and lower costs for Nevadans. Earlier this year, she announced that she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2024\/02\/26\/following-rosen-push-ftc-sues-to-block-grocery-store-mega-merger\/\">successfully pushed<\/a> the FTC to sue to block the Kroger-Albertsons grocery store mega-merger that would have reduced competition and further raised grocery prices in the state. She also joined her colleagues in submitting an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2024\/08\/08\/rosen-joins-effort-to-block-grocery-mega-merger-that-could-limit-competition-raise-prices\/\">amicus brief<\/a> urging the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon to block the merger.
