This cost cap was part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2022\/08\/07\/rosen-votes-to-pass-inflation-reduction-act\/\"><em>Inflation Reduction Act<\/em><\/a> that Senator Rosen helped pass, and it will prevent Medicare recipients from paying more than $2,000 per year in out-of-pocket costs for prescription drugs. It is expected to save nearly 19 million Americans an average of $400 each.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m proud to have helped pass the law that is helping lower expenses for Nevada\u2019s seniors at a time when they\u2019re facing rising costs,\u201d <strong>dijo el Senador Rosen.<\/strong> \u201cThis newly-enacted cap will provide Medicare Part D recipients with much-needed financial relief by making sure they don\u2019t have to pay more than $2,000 per year for prescription drugs. I\u2019ll keep doing everything I can in the U.S. Senate to lower costs for all Nevadans.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senator Rosen has been leading the fight to lower prescription drug costs for Nevadans. Last year, she joined her colleagues in filing an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2024\/09\/20\/rosen-colleagues-file-amicus-brief-urging-court-to-uphold-medicares-ability-to-negotiate-lower-prescription-drug-prices\/\">amicus brief<\/a> supporting the federal law they helped pass to give Medicare the power to negotiate for lower prescription drug prices. Senator Rosen also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2024\/05\/01\/rosen-cornyn-introduce-bipartisan-bill-to-lower-out-of-pocket-prescription-drug-costs-for-seniors\/\">introduced bipartisan legislation<\/a> to lower out-of-pocket prescription drug costs for seniors.
