This law provides full Social Security benefits for millions of public employees that were otherwise barred from accessing them.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Social Security Fairness Act restores full Social Security benefits for the millions of teachers, police officers, firefighters, and other public servants who are unfairly penalized by the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and the Government Pension Offset (GPO),\u201d <strong>wrote the senators.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Social Security Administration\u2019s website currently states, \u2018SSA expects that it could take more than one year to adjust benefits and pay all retroactive benefits\u2019 owed under the Social Security Fairness Act,\u201d <strong>they continued.<\/strong> \u2018We call for the immediate implementation of this legislation to provide prompt relief to the millions of Americans impacted by WEP and GPO.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The full letter can be found <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/2.5.2025-Letter-to-SSA-RE-H.R.82-WEP-GPO-Implementation.pdf\"><strong>HERE<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senator Rosen has been a staunch supporter of critical programs like Social Security and Medicare.
