DeepSeek poses a potentially major national security threat, as data collected from the program is being shared directly with the People\u2019s Republic of China (PRC) government and its intelligence agencies. Several U.S. states and allied nations have already moved to block DeepSeek from government devices due to critical security concerns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs the artificial intelligence landscape continues to rapidly expand, the U.S. must take steps to ensure Americans\u2019 data and government systems remain protected against platforms \u2014 like DeepSeek \u2014 that are linked to our adversaries,\u201d <strong>dijo el Senador Rosen.<\/strong> \u201cThis bipartisan legislation takes proactive steps to ban DeepSeek on all U.S. government devices, helping to further safeguard sensitive government data from the Chinese Communist Party.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDeepSeek is a tool that perpetuates Communist China\u2019s agenda\u2014full stop,\u201d <strong>said Senator Husted.<\/strong> \u201cIt exposes Americans\u2019 data to our adversary\u2019s government, lies to its users, and exploits American workers\u2019 AI advances. We can\u2019t afford for U.S. officials to play into Beijing\u2019s hands by hosting this hostile bot on their devices. Our bill is an urgent first step toward protecting our citizens, government, and economy from China\u2019s Communist Party.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDeepSeek poses serious security risks to Americans who use the platform. It should not be on government devices,\u201d <strong>said Senator Ricketts.<\/strong> \u201cThis bipartisan bill ensures that DeepSeek does not expose our government to potential national security risks\u2014or give our data to Communist China.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the first and only former computer programmer to serve in the Senate, Senator Rosen has led the fight to strengthen the nation\u2019s cybersecurity. Last year, Rosen<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2024\/03\/11\/following-devastating-cyberattack-rosen-calls-for-plan-to-address-cyber-threats-to-health-care-system\/\"> called on<\/a> the Department of Health and Human Services and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency to create a plan to help health care systems respond to cyber attacks like the recent ransomware attack on Change Healthcare. Additionally, Rosen\u2019s bipartisan<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2023\/05\/18\/rosens-bipartisan-bill-to-establish-civilian-cybersecurity-reserve-passes-senate-committee\/\"> <em>Department of Defense Civilian Cybersecurity Reserve Act<\/em><\/a> became law to recruit civilian cybersecurity personnel to serve in reserve capacities and respond to cyberattacks during times of need.
