I\u2019ll continue to work across the aisle to counter anti-Semitic hatred and bigotry, whether at home or abroad.\u201d&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:11pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,sans-serif\"><b><u><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\"><span style=\"color:black\">BACKGROUND:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/u><\/b>&nbsp;<span style=\"font-size:14.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\">In January 2019, S.238, the&nbsp;<i>Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism Act of 2019,&nbsp;<\/i>was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/rosen-helps-introduce-bipartisan-legislation-require-president-create-special-envoy-position-combat\/\" style=\"color:#0563c1; text-decoration:underline\"><span style=\"color:#0563c1\">introduced<\/span><\/a> by Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL), Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), Jacky Rosen (D-NV), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Bob Menendez (D-NJ), Cory Gardner (R-CO), and Elizabeth Warren (D-MA).&nbsp;<span style=\"color:black\">This <\/span>bipartisan <span style=\"color:black\">legislation<\/span> elevates the&nbsp;Special&nbsp;Envoy&nbsp;to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism&nbsp;to the rank of Ambassador, reporting directly to the Secretary of State and enabling sufficient seniority and access inside the U.S. government and when engaging foreign governments.
