WASHINGTON, D.C.<\/span><\/span><\/b> \u2013 Today, U.S. Senators Jacky Rosen (D-NV) and Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded four Nevada Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHC) a series of grants totaling over $15,729,142. This grant funding will be used to support mental health services in Nevada.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cEspecially now, access to mental health services is critically important,\u201d dijo el Senador Rosen.<\/b> \u201cI\u2019m pleased to see that this grant funding will go to support community behavioral health clinics in the Silver State. We must continue to support mental health services in Nevada and provide appropriate treatment and resources to those in need.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cSupporting Nevadan\u2019s mental health needs is one of my top priorities in the Senate,\u201d said Senator Cortez Masto.<\/b> \u201cThe coronavirus pandemic has taken an incredible toll on Nevadans, both physically and mentally, and it is more important than ever that we are funding community behavioral health programs and mental health services across the state. I\u2019ll continue advocating for federal funding that strengthens Nevadans\u2019 access to mental health care.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

BACKGROUND:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/u><\/b> Last Congress, Senators Rosen and Cortez Masto joined colleagues in sending a letter<\/span><\/a> to the then-Trump Administration, urging them to take all available actions to help address the mental health aspects of the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/span><\/span><\/span> The Senators are also both supporters of the Excellence in Mental Health and Addiction Treatment Expansion Act<\/a> <\/i>to renew and expand funding for Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHCs) across the country.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
