The BEAD program was created to connect families in the hardest-to-serve communities to high-speed internet and close the digital divide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senator Rosen worked across party lines to help <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2021\/11\/15\/senator-jacky-rosen-applauds-infrastructure-investment-and-jobs-act-becoming-law-attends-white-house-bill-signing-for-historic-bipartisan-package\/\">create<\/a> the BEAD program, and she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2023\/06\/26\/rosen-secures-more-than-416-million-to-connect-nevada-households-to-high-speed-internet\/\">secured<\/a> $416 million for Nevada through BEAD. The state has been fully approved to receive this funding since January 2025. Given the Administration\u2019s pause and delay of the program, Senator Rosen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2025\/05\/16\/rosen-leads-colleagues-in-demanding-trump-lifts-hold-on-high-speed-internet-funding-for-nevada\/\">led 11 of her colleagues<\/a> in a letter last month demanding that the Trump Administration immediately release funding for the program. The Trump Administration\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/broadbandusa.ntia.gov\/funding-programs\/broadband-equity-access-and-deployment-bead-program\">new guidance<\/a> will rescind this final approval and hinder Nevada\u2019s ability to connect Nevadans to high-speed internet.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m beyond outraged that the Trump Administration has moved the goal post yet again and rescinded Nevada\u2019s approval to get the BEAD funding I secured to connect the hardest-to-reach communities in our state to high-speed internet,\u201d <strong>dijo el Senador Rosen.<\/strong> \u201cThis decision will put Nevada\u2019s broadband funding in jeopardy, and it\u2019s a slap in the face to rural communities that need access to high-speed internet. I\u2019m going to put a hold on all nominations for Commerce Department positions that oversee or deal with broadband policy in any way, and block their expedited confirmation, until Nevada gets its BEAD funding.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senator Rosen has been a strong advocate for expanding high-speed internet access in Nevada. Through her efforts, she has secured $550 million in federal funding through various programs and legislation for the High Speed Nevada Initiative, including the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2023\/06\/16\/in-las-vegas-rosen-to-announce-more-than-43-million-she-secured-to-expand-access-to-high-speed-internet-in-nevada\/\">Middle Mile Infrastructure Grant Program<\/a> she created. Senator Rosen helped write the broadband section of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2021\/11\/15\/senator-jacky-rosen-applauds-infrastructure-investment-and-jobs-act-becoming-law-attends-white-house-bill-signing-for-historic-bipartisan-package\/\"><em>Bipartisan Infrastructure Law<\/em><\/a>, securing $65 billion in overall nationwide investments to make high-speed internet affordable for Americans.
