A report labeled Nevada as a \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reviewjournal.com\/news\/politics-and-government\/nevada\/child-care-desert-most-young-nevada-children-lack-access-2729819\/\">child care desert,<\/a>\u201d meaning that 75% of children age five and younger don\u2019t have access to a licensed provider in the state. The <em>Child Care for Working Families Act<\/em> would help lower child care costs for families, support child care provider start-ups, raise wages for early educators, and boost investment in high-quality preschool. Under the proposal, no eligible family would pay more than 7 percent of their income on child care, and many would pay nothing at all.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cFamilies in Nevada are being stretched thin by the soaring costs of child care. It is outrageous that in Nevada a year of child care costs more than a year of college tuition,\u201d <strong>dijo el Senador Rosen.<\/strong> \u201cThat\u2019s why I\u2019m proud to help introduce a bill that takes bold steps to lower child care costs, expand access, and invest in our children\u2019s futures. I\u2019ll continue working on policies that provide Nevada\u2019s working families with the affordable, high-quality child care they need and deserve.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senator Rosen has been actively working to lower costs for families and increase access to child care across Nevada. Earlier this year, she introduced the bipartisan <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2025\/01\/29\/rosen-ernst-introduce-bipartisan-bill-to-expand-affordable-child-care-availability-support-child-care-providers\/\"><em>Small Business Child Care Investment Act<\/em><\/a>,&nbsp; which was successfully approved by the Senate Committee on Small Business &amp; Entrepreneurship and would make nonprofit child care providers eligible for U.S. Small Business Administration loan programs, helping them grow and reach more working families.
