Senator Rosen warns that the law guts Medicaid, strips health care coverage from over 100,000 Nevadans, and threatens to financially devastate rural hospitals across the state\u2014including more than $3 million in projected losses for Elko\u2019s Northeastern Nevada Regional Hospital. The law could force hospitals to shut down emergency rooms, intensive care units, and maternity wards, leaving rural families without access to life-saving care. That\u2019s why access to quality, affordable care is essential; not just in emergencies, but for managing chronic conditions, keeping families healthy, and giving every Nevadan the chance to live a full life.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recently, Republicans in Washington appear to have lost sight of their responsibilities and priorities. Just a few weeks ago, Republicans in Congress passed Donald Trump\u2019s One Big Beautiful Bill Act. <strong>The ugly truth is this legislation will make it harder, not easier, for families to get the care they need to stay healthy. And the harmful impact will be felt the most in our rural communities, where Nevadans already face barriers in accessing care and hospitals struggle to meet demand.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The unfortunate reality is, this so-called \u201cBig Beautiful Bill\u201d guts Medicaid, taking health insurance away from families who need it most.<strong> It means more than 100,000 Nevadans who rely on Medicaid will lose their insurance and will no longer be covered to receive the medical attention they need.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Republican law will have a particularly harmful effect on our rural hospitals, which are already under-resourced. Due to the Republicans\u2019 \u201cBig Beautiful Bill,\u201d <strong>rural hospitals in Nevada are expected to see a 25% reduction in revenue as a direct result of Medicaid cuts<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As your senator, my job is to fight for everyday Nevadans and protect your access to critical medical care and services. <strong>That\u2019s why I fought back strongly to prevent this Big Ugly Betrayal of a bill from becoming law<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Unfortunately, Republicans in Congress pulled out all the stops to pass it \u2014 <strong>including by blocking every single provision Democrats offered to make this bill even slightly better.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As long as I\u2019m your voice in the U.S. Senate, I\u2019ll continue to fight back against these extreme attacks against Nevadans health and ensure our state has the resources we need to give every family access to quality medical care.
