Lithium Americas is an integral partner in Nevada\u2019s Lithium Loop Tech Hub, the funding for which Senator Rosen <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2024\/07\/02\/senator-rosen-secretary-raimondo-announce-nevada-awarded-millions-of-dollars-for-tech-hub\/\">secured<\/a> to boost lithium extraction, production, processing, and recycling, while creating good-paying jobs. Senator Rosen was joined on today\u2019s tour by Winnemucca Mayor Rich Stone.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs the only state with active lithium mining, Nevada is a national leader in the critical mineral supply chain \u2014 boosting our economy, creating good-paying jobs, and supporting American energy independence,\u201d&nbsp; <strong>dijo el Senador Rosen.<\/strong> \u201cI joined local leaders to visit the Thacker Pass project and discuss how it will help strengthen our clean energy sector, create jobs, and strengthen our national security. I was proud to help secure funding for this project, and will continue to advocate for responsible mining development \u2014 with robust labor and environmental protections \u2014 in Nevada.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe greatly appreciate Senator Rosen\u2019s support for responsibly onshoring critical mineral development and securing our country\u2019s energy future,\u201d <strong>said Tim Crowley, Vice President of Government and External Affairs at Lithium Americas.<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senator Rosen helped <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2024\/03\/14\/rosen-cortez-masto-tout-department-of-energys-2-26-billion-investment-to-support-new-lithium-processing-plant-create-clean-energy-jobs\/\">secure the funding<\/a> for Thacker Pass through the <em>Inflation Reduction Act<\/em> that she voted for and helped pass, greatly expanding the Department of Energy\u2019s loan authority for such projects. She was also a leading author of the <em>Bipartisan Infrastructure Law<\/em>, which included bipartisan legislation to promote Nevada\u2019s mining and emerging battery industries and to create the battery manufacturing and recycling program that is funding numerous projects in Nevada.
