She toured the facility and hosted a roundtable discussion with Mason Van Houweling, Chief Executive Officer of UMC; Dr. Ketan Patel, Medical Director of UMC\u2019s Adult Emergency Department; and Patrick Kelly, President and CEO of Nevada Hospital Association. The extreme Medicaid cuts, passed as part of Republicans&#8217; \u201cOne Big Beautiful Bill\u201d reconciliation package, threaten health care for Nevadans who rely on Medicaid while also reducing critical funding for hospitals and health centers like UMC\u2014Nevada\u2019s only Level I trauma center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs Nevada\u2019s only level one trauma center, UMC provides critical health care services to families all across Southern Nevada,\u201d <strong>dijo el Senador Rosen. <\/strong>\u201cI visited UMC to hear directly how they\u2019ll be impacted by Washington Republicans\u2019 Medicaid cuts. I will not stop fighting until we restore the funding for this critical lifeline.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs Southern Nevada\u2019s hometown hospital for nearly one hundred years, UMC is a beacon of hope for this community,\u201d <strong>said Mason Van Houweling, Chief Executive Officer of UMC. <\/strong>\u201cWe have faced many adversities throughout our long history, and our world-class team always rises to the challenge to continue providing the highest level of care to our community members.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senator Rosen has been a steadfast opponent of Republicans\u2019 extreme budget law.
