While we work to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic, I will keep fighting to see that Nevada\u2019s small businesses have the resources they need.\u201d <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:11pt\"><span style=\"background:white\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,sans-serif\"><b><u><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\"><span style=\"color:black\">BACKGROUND:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/u><\/b>&nbsp;<span style=\"font-size:14.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\"><span style=\"color:#222222\">Nevada is home to 280,000 small businesses.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:11pt\"><span style=\"background:white\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\"><span style=\"color:#222222\">The U.S. Small Business Administration\u2019s (SBA) Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) was set to expire on March 31, 2021.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:11pt\"><span style=\"background:white\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\"><span style=\"color:#222222\">The newly enacted<i>&nbsp;PPP Extension Act of 2021&nbsp;<\/i>will extend the application window for PPP loans to small businesses through May 31, 2021, and provide an additional 30-day period for the Small Business Administration (SBA) to process applications that are still pending, through June 30, 2021.&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:11pt\"><span style=\"background:white\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\"><span style=\"color:#222222\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/rosen-co-sponsors-bipartisan-legislation-extend-paycheck-protection-program-through-may\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"color:#0563c1\">Earlier this month<\/span><\/a>, Rosen announced her co-sponsorship of the bipartisan, Senate version of the<i>&nbsp;PPP Extension Act of 2021&nbsp;<\/i>(S.723)<i>.<\/i><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:11pt\"><span style=\"background:white\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\"><span style=\"color:#222222\">The Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) is a loan designed to provide a direct incentive for small businesses to keep their <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\"><span style=\"color:black\">workers on payroll.
