Senator Rosen says that if these premium tax credits expire, over 95,000 Nevadans will see their premiums double, and every Nevadan with health insurance will see a premium increase.&nbsp;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>This is Reno: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/thisisreno.com\/2025\/10\/aca-tax-credit-expiration\/#memberful_overlay\"><strong>Nevadans share fears of losing health insurance coverage as ACA subsidies near expiration&nbsp;<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Three Nevadans who in the past have purchased their health insurance on Nevada\u2019s exchange said rising health care costs, and the expiration of enhanced tax credits under the Affordable Care Act, will make it impossible for them to continue their health care coverage next year if those tax credits expire. The three spoke with Nevada\u2019s Democratic Sen. Jacky Rosen on Wednesday during a virtual roundtable.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cWithout [the tax credits] I will not see the doctor, I will not fill my prescriptions,\u201d said Robin Bush, a 63-year-old living in Gardnerville. \u201cThat\u2019s scary.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cHealth is the one thing, I don\u2019t care who you are, where you live, what religion you are, young, old, or somewhere in between that impacts every person,\u201d [Rosen] said. \u201cWhere\u2019s the urgency for my Republican colleagues? Do they know no one who\u2019s sick? Do they know no one who can\u2019t afford their insurance? I just don\u2019t understand how they can turn a deaf ear or a blind eye to this.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>KUNR Reno: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kunr.org\/local-stories\/2025-10-16\/sen-rosen-urges-action-to-extend-health-care-tax-credits-for-thousands-of-nevadans\"><strong>Sen. Rosen urges action to extend health care tax credits for thousands of Nevadans<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The conversation centered on the potential expiration of enhanced premium tax credits under the Affordable Care Act. Originally expanded during the pandemic to make insurance more affordable, those credits are set to expire in December.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cSince the beginning of this year, my Democratic colleagues and I have been trying to get Senate Republicans to work with us to prevent this massive spike in health care costs we knew was coming because of the expiration of the tax credits,\u201d Rosen said. \u201cIf we don&#8217;t extend these tax credits, life-saving coverage will be out of reach for too many.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>KRNV Reno: <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mynews4.com\/news\/local\/nevadans-face-26-rise-in-health-care-premiums-in-2026\"><strong>Nevadans face 26% rise in average health care premiums in 2026&nbsp;<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Nevadans may see an increase in their health care premiums at the start of 2026, with an average rise of 26% across all plans, according to Katie Charleson, communications officer for Nevada Health Link, and the Nevada Division of Insurance. This increase comes with the uncertainty surrounding subsidies from the Affordable Care Act, which were extended during the COVID-19 pandemic but are set to expire at the end of 2025.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Democrats, including Nevada Sen.
