Senator Rosen has repeatedly voted in favor of legislation to reopen the government and address the looming spike in health care costs ahead of open enrollment on November 1st. A <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kff.org\/affordable-care-act\/aca-marketplace-premium-payments-would-more-than-double-on-average-next-year-if-enhanced-premium-tax-credits-expire\/\">recent analysis<\/a> by the non-partisan Kaiser Family Foundation showed that health care premiums for hardworking families would more than double if the Affordable Care Act\u2019s (ACA) enhanced premium tax credits are not extended this year. In Nevada, nearly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kff.org\/affordable-care-act\/state-indicator\/average-monthly-advance-premium-tax-credit-aptc\/?currentTimeframe=0&amp;sortModel=%7B%22colId%22:%22Location%22,%22sort%22:%22asc%22%7D\">95,000<\/a> people directly benefit from these tax credits.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDonald Trump and Washington Republicans control Congress and the White House \u2013 and it\u2019s on them to end this government shutdown and take action to prevent a spike in health care costs for hardworking families,\u201d <strong>dijo el Senador Rosen. <\/strong>\u201cThe Trump Administration would rather continue this shutdown and furlough federal workers, including at the Nevada National Security Site, than work across party lines to extend the Affordable Care Act\u2019s enhanced premium tax credits that families rely on to keep their health care affordable. We\u2019re less than two weeks from the start of open enrollment and Nevadans are going to see their health care costs sharply increase if we don\u2019t act now. I\u2019ll always fight to ensure families across our state have the ability to see a doctor without breaking the bank.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senator Rosen recently hosted a virtual <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2025\/10\/15\/rosen-hosts-virtual-conversation-with-nevadans-who-rely-on-affordable-care-act-tax-credits-calls-on-washington-republicans-to-act-to-prevent-rise-in-health-care-costs\/\">roundtable<\/a> with Nevadans who rely on the Affordable Care Act\u2019s enhanced premium tax credits to afford their health coverage.
