At the beginning of the Republican government shutdown, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) said it would use its multi-year contingency fund to continue paying SNAP benefits. However, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.newsfromthestates.com\/article\/usda-wont-shuffle-funds-extend-snap-during-shutdown-about-face-earlier-plan\">USDA has now deleted that plan<\/a> from its website and changed tune \u2013 putting at risk Nevadans\u2019 access to SNAP funding. Earlier this year, Republicans cut an estimated <a href=\"https:\/\/nevadacurrent.com\/2025\/08\/14\/citing-expected-snap-shortfall-cannizzaro-says-any-special-session-cant-ignore-federal-fallout\/\">$19 million<\/a> for SNAP in Nevada next year as part of their \u201cOne Big Beautiful Bill.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDonald Trump is putting Nevada families at risk of losing critical food assistance by canceling emergency SNAP funding that his Administration had already committed to use during the Republican government shutdown,\u201d <strong>dijo el Senador Rosen.<\/strong> \u201cI\u2019m extremely disappointed that Washington Republicans blocked our attempt to fund these programs that feed American families.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senator Rosen joined colleagues in sending a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2025\/10\/23\/rosen-joins-senate-colleagues-urging-trump-administration-to-immediately-release-november-snap-benefits\/\">letter<\/a> last week urging the Trump Administration to immediately release November SNAP benefits.
