This bicameral legislation, introduced in the Senate by Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) and in the House of Representatives by Rep. Jimmy Gomez (D-CA), would create a grant program to fund projects that make transportation to parks, green spaces, and public lands and waters more accessible for underserved communities.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:11pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\">\u201cNevada\u2019s public lands, parks, and waterways are an incredible source of beauty that present countless opportunities for outdoor recreation and enjoyment. However, many Nevadans lack the transportation means to visit these majestic sites,\u201d <b>dijo el Senador Rosen.<\/b> \u201cI\u2019m proud to co-sponsor this legislation which would help to support transportation projects that allow Nevadans from all communities to enjoy our state\u2019s natural wonders.\u201d&nbsp;<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:11pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,sans-serif\"><b><u><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\">BACKGROUND:<\/span><\/span><\/u><\/b><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\"> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/rosen-and-cortez-masto-re-introduce-lander-county-land-management-and-conservation-act-and-carson\/\"><span style=\"color:#0563c1\">Last week<\/span><\/a>, Rosen introduced the <i>Lander County Land Management and Conservation Act<\/i>, legislation that would convey land to Lander County, Nevada for improving its airports, accessing water infrastructure, and economic development, and also designate over 14,000 acres of wilderness, and the <i>Carson City Public Land Correction Act<\/i>, legislation that would promote conservation, improve public lands management, and expand economic development opportunities in Carson City, Nevada.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:11pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\">Last Congress, Rosen helped introduce the <i>Great American Outdoors Act<\/i>, landmark legislation that was signed into law and helps preserve and protect our country\u2019s public lands.
