According to recent reporting, Homan was part of a sting operation regarding corruption and bribery \u2013 where he allegedly received $50,000 of possible taxpayer dollars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAs Mr. Homan continues to serve in his role advancing the President\u2019s cruel and reckless mass deportation agenda, and as he prepares to fully lead enforcement operations in Minnesota, I request that you conduct a robust investigation into Mr. Homan\u2019s acceptance of the $50,000 cash payment from undercover FBI agents, and DOJ\u2019s handling of the case, to ensure Mr. Homan\u2019s fitness for the job,\u201d <strong>wrote Senator Rosen.<\/strong> \u201cFurthermore, given that it is unclear what happened to the $50,000 provided to Mr. Homan in the sting operation. It is critical for your office to determine how Mr. Homan later used this money, particularly if the payment was funded by taxpayer dollars.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe Border Czar \u2013 despite this Administration\u2019s cruel mass deportation policies and often violent practices \u2013 is supposed to be responsible for developing effective solutions to secure the border and keep Americans safe,\u201d <strong>continued Senator Rosen.<\/strong> \u201cIt is therefore deeply concerning that DOJ dismissed this case with very little explanation and allowed Mr. Homan to continue to lead, advise, and conduct the immigration policies of this Administration. At a time when ICE and CBP\u2019s immigration enforcement practices are at the forefront of the national consciousness, and as the Administration directs its personnel to employ inhumane and horrifying tactics, I am extremely concerned about Mr. Homan\u2019s ability to maintain public confidence and ethically and effectively perform his duties as White House Border Czar.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Read Senator Rosen<\/strong>&#8216;<strong>s full letter <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/JR_DOJ-IG-Letter_FINAL-1.29.2026-.pdf\">HERE<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senator Rosen has been outspoken about her efforts to push back on misconduct from Trump Administration officials. This week, she called for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2026\/01\/25\/rosen-calls-for-impeachment-of-secretary-of-homeland-security-kristi-noem\/\">impeachment<\/a> of Kristi Noem and committed to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2026\/01\/24\/rosen-statement-opposing-government-funding-for-ice-until-guardrails-in-place-to-rein-it-in\/\">voting against<\/a> additional funding for ICE until significant reforms are enacted. Last year, she helped introduce the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2025\/02\/14\/rosen-helps-introduce-bill-to-protect-sensitive-locations-from-immigration-raids\/\"><em>Protect Sensitive Locations Act<\/em><\/a>, which would provide commonsense protections against immigration enforcement in sensitive locations like schools, hospitals, and churches. She also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2025\/01\/29\/rosen-statement-on-trump-administrations-misguided-decision-to-revoke-temporary-protected-status-extension-for-venezuelans\/\">strongly denounced<\/a> the Trump Administration for revoking a previously authorized TPS extension for immigrants from Venezuela.
