WASHINGTON, DC – <\/strong>Senate Republicans once again blocked U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen\u2019s (D-NV) attempt to pass her bill to pay Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents amidst the Republican shutdown of the Department of Homeland Security. Senator Rosen\u2019s bill would ensure TSA agents get paid for their work, despite Washington Republicans holding DHS funding hostage over their unwillingness to put guardrails on ICE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Senate Democrats, this time led by Jacky Rosen of Nevada, again tried to pass a bill that would fund TSA but not the rest of the Department of Homeland Security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sen. Roger Marshall, R-Kan., blocked the measure as Rosen sought unanimous consent for its passage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou know, I find this really disappointing. Paying our hardworking TSA officers shouldn\u2019t be controversial. It\u2019s not partisan. The funding isn\u2019t controversial,\u201d Rosen said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anchor: \u201cAnd on Capitol Hill, a bill to guarantee pay for TSA workers during the partial government shutdown has been blocked, with the stoppage now in its 37th day started after both parties could not agree on terms surrounding immigration reforms. Well,<\/em> <\/em><\/strong>Senator Rosen, introducing the bill, saying the airport workers should not be punished because Republicans refuse to, quote, rein in ICE.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
