Senator Rosen was joined by Senators Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV), John Hickenlooper (D-CO), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Michael Bennet (D-CO), Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH), Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), and Ron Wyden (D-OR).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This letter comes after a string of incidents nationwide, in which ICE agents \u2013 with cooperation from TSA \u2013 have acted with impunity, at times targeting people at airports. One such <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2026\/07\/17\/rosen-demands-answers-from-tsa-administrator-nominee-on-las-vegas-airport-ice-arrest-pledges-to-not-support-until-addressed\/\">incident <\/a>occurred just a couple of weeks ago at Harry Reid International Airport, when ICE officers, masked, plain-clothed, and without any identification, attempted to violently arrest an elderly man before running off following public intervention.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe write to express concerns regarding recent immigration enforcement actions at airports across the nation conducted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), with the apparent assistance and support of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA),\u201d <strong>wrote the Senators. <\/strong>\u201cSuch actions create fear in our communities and cause disruption and distress to the traveling public.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cUnfortunately, recent reporting by the New York Times indicates that troubling events like these are occurring frequently across the nation at America\u2019s Airports. Such actions only served to disrupt local communities, create fear among immigrant families, and undermine the travel and tourism sector at a time when it is trying to rebound from a 5.5% decline in international tourism in 2025 that occurred due to President Trump\u2019s misguided tariff, immigration, and foreign policies,\u201d <strong>the Senators continued. <\/strong>\u201cWith all this in mind, we request your response to several questions regarding the operating relationship between ICE and TSA and the type of information that is being shared between the agencies.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You can read the full letter <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/Letter-to-DHS-ICE-TSA-re_-ICE-Actions-at-Airports-FINAL.pdf\"><strong>HERE<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senator Rosen has continuously demanded stricter guidelines and more accountability for ICE agents. She <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2026\/07\/22\/icymi-rosen-joins-ms-now-condemns-ice-incident-at-las-vegas-airport\/\">condemned<\/a> the incident at Harry Reid International, demanding answers from TSA and DHS on the issue. Senator Rosen then <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/2026\/07\/21\/rosen-to-oppose-trump-tsa-administrator-nominee-following-failure-to-directly-answer-questions-on-cooperation-with-ice\/\">opposed<\/a> the confirmation of Trump\u2019s TSA Administrator nominee, David Cummins, after he failed to answer any questions on TSA\u2019s cooperation with ICE.
