Today, I was proud to hold a roundtable discussion at the University of Nevada, Reno, with some of our state\u2019s student Dreamers to discuss the challenges they\u2019re facing and how we can help,\u201d <b>dijo el Senador Rosen.<\/b> \u201cIt is clear that Dreamers need legal protections, and Congress must act immediately. We must urgently pass immigration reform legislation through any means possible to provide our Dreamers with the stability needed to continue living, working, learning, and contributing to our state.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:11pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\">\u201cOur University\u2019s support for our DACA students and their families remains firm,\u201d <b>said University of Nevada<span style=\"color:#1f497d\">,<\/span> Reno President Brian Sandoval.<\/b> \u201cI\u2019m proud to have Senator Rosen come to UNR today to speak with our DACA students, and I applaud her commitment to protecting this community and passing comprehensive immigration reform<span style=\"color:#1f497d\">, <\/span>including the DREAM Act. I am grateful to have Nevada leaders like Senator Rosen and other elected officials, who remain committed to fighting for lasting and permanent protections for Dreamers like me.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:11pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,sans-serif\"><b><u><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\">BACKGROUND:<\/span><\/span><\/u><\/b><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\">&nbsp;Senator Rosen is a co-sponsor of the <i><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/rosen-co-sponsors-us-citizenship-act\/\"><span style=\"color:#0563c1\">U.S. Citizenship Act<\/span><\/a><\/i>, comprehensive immigration reform legislation that would create a pathway to citizenship for immigrants, including Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and Temporary Protected Status (TPS) recipients; address the root causes of migration; and improve our nation\u2019s security.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:11pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\">Senator Rosen is also a co-sponsor of the <i>National Office of New Americans Act<\/i> (S. 291), legislation that would establish a new office to help ensure a welcoming and inclusive immigration system by promoting and supporting immigrant and refugee integration into, and inclusion in, the social, cultural, economic, and civic life of the United States, including by coordinating federal, state, and local efforts. This legislation will help provide the support and resources immigrants and refugees need to thrive in the United States fully.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:11pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\">Senator Rosen also co-sponsored the <i><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rosen.senate.gov\/es\/rosen-co-sponsors-protect-dreamer-confidentiality-act-safeguard-dreamers-private-information\/\"><span style=\"color:#0563c1\">Protect Dreamer Confidentiality Act<\/span><\/a><\/i> (S. 846), legislation to safeguard the private information\u2014such as addresses and telephone numbers\u2014of young immigrants protected under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), also known as Dreamers.
