LAS VEGAS, NV \u2013<\/strong> U.S. Senators Jacky Rosen (D-NV) and Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV) secured $2,422,000 in grants for law enforcement projects. The funding comes from the Department of Justice\u2019s Byrne JAG Grant Program and will be distributed to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the City of Henderson, and the Nevada Department of Public Safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur law enforcement officers work around the clock to keep Nevadans safe, and I\u2019m committed to supporting them in any way I can,\u201d said Senator Jacky Rosen.<\/strong> \u201cI am proud to have helped secure this funding for law enforcement agencies across our state to ensure that they have the equipment and training they need to keep us safe.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cLocal law enforcement is the backbone of public safety in Nevada, but too often our officers are being asked to do more with less,\u201d said Senator Cortez Masto. <\/strong>\u201cFrom improving training to modernizing equipment, this critical funding will support police officers from Reno to Henderson. I\u2019ll never stop working to deliver for local law enforcement and ensure all Nevadans feel safe in their communities.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
