Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, local restaurants have faced severe economic challenges,\u201d <b>dijo el Senador Rosen.<\/b> \u201cThe American Rescue Plan Act \u2013 which I was proud to help pass \u2013 has provided much-needed relief during this challenging time; however, we must do more. This bipartisan legislation would build upon our efforts to help restaurants in Nevada and nationwide, providing them with critical funding to keep their doors open while we work to recover from this pandemic.\u201d<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:11pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,sans-serif\"><b><u><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\">BACKGROUND:<\/span><\/span><\/u><\/b><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\"> In March, Senator Rosen voted to pass the <i>American Rescue Plan Act of 2021<\/i>, legislation that was signed into law on March 11, 2021. The bill included $25 billion in direct aid to restaurants through the Restaurant Revitalization Fund.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size:11pt\"><span style=\"font-family:Calibri,sans-serif\"><span style=\"font-size:14.0pt\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\">In September 2020, Senator Rosen co-sponsored the&nbsp;<i>RESTAURANTS Act&nbsp;<\/i>(S. 4012), bipartisan legislation to create a multi-billion-dollar&nbsp;revitalization&nbsp;fund&nbsp;at the U.S. Department of the Treasury to provide grants to restaurants, food stands, food trucks, food carts, caterers, saloons, inns, taverns, bars, lounges, and other similar businesses to help with expenses such as payroll, benefits, mortgage, rent, utilities, maintenance, supplies, food, and debt obligations to suppliers.
