The bill also extends the Manufacturing USA Program and establishes a regional technology hub program to carry out intensive, technology-focused economic development activities.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height:1.38\"><span style=\"font-size:13.999999999999998pt; font-variant:normal; white-space:pre-wrap\"><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman'\"><span style=\"color:#000000\"><span style=\"font-weight:700\"><span style=\"font-style:normal\"><span style=\"text-decoration:none\">During consideration of the bill in the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee last year, Senator Rosen negotiated the adoption and inclusion of three amendments she led or co-led, based on legislation she helped introduce:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\" style=\"list-style-type:disc\"><span style=\"font-size:13.999999999999998pt; font-variant:normal; white-space:pre-wrap\"><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman'\"><span style=\"color:#000000\"><span style=\"font-weight:400\"><span style=\"font-style:normal\"><span style=\"text-decoration:none\">A bipartisan amendment with Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS) to direct the National Science Foundation (NSF) to support rural STEM education and workforce development through grants for research on teaching STEM in rural schools, barriers rural students face in accessing STEM education, and solutions to improve the participation of rural pre-K-12 students in STEM.
