The provision would include new occupational series for federal wildland firefighters and pay raises for these responders. OPM, responsible for federal personnel management, has missed its target of May for completing this process.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"line-height:1.2\"><span style=\"font-size:13.999999999999998pt; font-variant:normal; white-space:pre-wrap\"><span style=\"font-family:'Times New Roman'\"><span style=\"color:#000000\"><span style=\"background-color:#ffffff\"><span style=\"font-weight:400\"><span style=\"font-style:normal\"><span style=\"text-decoration:none\">2021 was one of the longest and most destructive wildfire seasons on record, exacerbated by rising annual temperatures and worsening drought conditions in the West.
